Should We Meditate Every Day?

Should We Meditate Every Day?

The inner requirement of every human being remains in peace. Nowadays life routine is such that, everyone suffers with different levels of stress. The main reason of stress is- you lead your life in unbalancing manner. You always work to satisfy your five senses, but forget the requirements of mind and heart. The mind is generally full with enormous thoughts, in which some are useful and others are useless. You are unable to regulate them, this leads to confusion and stress. To regulate mind the synchronization between mind and heart is necessary which help, to lead with useful thoughts and help to ignore useless thoughts. This can be achieved by meditation. By meditation your discrimination power is increased, you are able to discriminate between wrong and right and your will power becomes so strong, you act in the right direction. When such attitude is developed you successfully manage your life. You can easily manage your time and relations become more true and strong. The vital values are must to be a human being; these are love, humility, empathy and kindness. You all see nowadays vital values disappear from human being; in fact, they are hidden due to our negativity. So, with the help of meditation, values which are present in our heart beginning to explore in our behavior and attitude. In 1993 a group of meditators did meditation regularly for two months, there was a reduction in violence and crime in Washington, DC. As many times such experiments are done and positive results are obtained. An environment around human being who meditate regularly, become pure and light. So you see that by meditation we can feel inner peace as well as gradually develop outer peace. As the number of meditators increase as the environment becomes more pure and positive. Regarding this, I want to share about 100 monkeys effect with you- In 1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand. The monkey liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant. An 18-month-old female named Imo found she could solve the problem by washing the potatoes in a nearby stream. She taught this trick to her mother. Her playmates also learned this new way and they taught their mothers too, gradually this trick was learned by 99 monkeys. As soon as the 100th monkey learned this trick, a most surprising thing observed by these scientists was that the habit of washing sweet potatoes, then jumped over the sea...Colonies of monkeys on other islands and the mainland troop of monkeys at Takasakiyama began washing their sweet potatoes. Thus, when a certain critical number achieves awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind.
By meditation working capacity of mind is increased. Research suggests that a regular meditation practice can cause beneficial structural changes in the brain that result increase in mental performance (alertness, memory, learning ability, planning, decision making and judgment) and in emotional intelligence.
Thus, everyone should meditate every day for oneself and for others. To learn to meditate you can visit www.heartfulness.org.

Buddha was asked,
“What have you gained
from meditation?”
He replied,”Nothing! However.
Budha said, let me tell you
what I lost : Anger, Anexity,
Depression, Insecurity, Fear of old age and death.”
